FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Getting Started
-
EMS (Electrical Muscle Stimulation) uses a full-body suit to send electrical impulses to your muscles during exercise, activating up to 90% of muscle fibres in one session — far more than conventional training.
-
EMS engages more muscle fibres at once, giving you a deeper, more efficient workout in less time, with less strain on your joints.
-
Most healthy adults, regardless of fitness level. It's popular for those with busy schedules, those easing back into fitness, returning from injury, and anyone wanting efficient strength gains.
-
Yes. It's not recommended for pregnant women, those with pacemakers/implanted devices, epilepsy, certain heart conditions, or acute injuries/infections. A mandatory health screening (PAR-Q form) is completed before your first session.
Refer to our Terms & Conditions for the full list of contraindications.
Your Session
-
Sessions run 45 minutes. Most members train 1–2 times per week, with a max of 3 EMS sessions/week (12/month) depending on your membership tier.
-
A conductive suit is provided. Grip socks and gloves are optional — bring your own if preferred. Bring a bath towel if you plan to shower.
PWRHAUS is a barefoot studio — no shoes needed.
-
Arriving after a session starts may result in the trainer refusing entry for safety and session quality reasons. Late arrivals may result in a forfeited session, with no refund, credit, or rescheduling.
-
Some soreness is normal, similar to an intense workout, and typically eases as your body adjusts.
-
No. Every session is guided by a certified trainer who adjusts intensity to your fitness level and goals.
Credits & Packages
-
1 EMS session = 2 credits, 1 Non-EMS session = 1 credit, and select special/exclusive classes = 3–4 credits.
For recurring memberships, credits refresh monthly in line with your billing date. For non-member/drop-in packages, credits are issued upfront and the validity period starts from your first booked session.
-
No — for recurring memberships, unused credits do not carry over to the next billing cycle, except for Founding Members, who enjoy credit rollover as a bonus perk.
-
Yes. EMS: up to 3/week (12/month). Non-EMS: up to 1/week (4/month), based on membership tier — this applies regardless of your credit balance.
-
For non-member/drop-in packages, remaining credits are forfeited at the end of the validity period and are non-refundable. Membership fees are also non-refundable, regardless of unused sessions or missed bookings.
Cancellations & Rescheduling
-
Cancel at least 24 hours before your scheduled session to avoid forfeiting your credit. Cancellations made after this window, or no-shows, will result in the session credit being forfeited.
-
You'll be given a replacement session or credit.
Freezing & Ending Your Membership
-
Yes, with prior written approval, for illness/injury (with a medical certificate) or travel (with an itinerary). POWER tier allows up to 2 weeks cumulative freeze; ELITE tier allows up to 4 weeks. Founding Members enjoy unlimited freeze duration.
Billing continues during a freeze, and your membership term is extended accordingly with credits reimbursed for that period.
-
Provide at least 14 days' written notice before your next billing date. Ending your membership before your commitment period is complete incurs an early termination fee of SGD 300 (waived for Founding Members).
